Being a Student and Freelancer
Being in college is everything that you probably think. It's exhilarating; it's a lot of hard work; it's busy; it's fun. It's also expensive. Super, super expensive. College students have to worry about simply affording college because tuition and fees and room and board cost almost as much (if not more) than a newborn. Never mind all the extracurricular fees that's necessary to go out, buy food, and simply survive outside of college.
So what's a college student to do for money? A lot will get a part-time job. Others rely on weekly allowance. Some people don't have anything. But there are an increasing amount of students who are now turning to freelancing their skills, may it be design services, writing, makeup, hair styling, or photography.
I am one of the latter students. I am a freelancer (or an up-and-coming freelancer). Photography is my passion. While a part-time job would do its duty, it doesn't fulfill me. I need something they can satisfy me creatively and (obviously) financially; it has to make me happy.
As I continue to pursue my freelance photography gig, I will document on this blog every now and then. If you have any questions about how I'm going about it, feel free to reach out to me.
Are you a freelancing college student? Or were you?
